The defending champion needed just over two hours to complete a 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 victory, keeping alive his bid for a third consecutive Wimbledon crown. The 22-year-old Spaniard, currently ranked World No. 2, proved too strong for Norrie — the last British hope in the draw — showcasing his trademark blend of power, finesse, and athleticism. The win marks Alcaraz’s 23rd consecutive match victory and puts him just two wins away from joining the exclusive club of men who have won Wimbledon three years in a row, a feat previously achieved only by legends such as Björn Borg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic. Focus Turns to FritzAwaiting Alcaraz in the semi-finals is fifth seed Taylor Fritz, who came through a four-set battle against Karen Khachanov to reach his first career semi-final at the All England Club. Fritz heads into the clash in fine form, having claimed grass-court titles in Stuttgart and Eastbourne earlier this season.“Taylor is playing great,” Alcaraz said in his on-court interview. “He’s had a really successful grass season, so I’ll be ready for that battle. We’ve played a few times, and it’s always tough — I’ll try to play at the same level as I did today.” A Moment to RechargeWith two days to recover and prepare for the semi-final showdown, Alcaraz revealed his relaxation plans — and they won’t include a trip to Ibiza.“I’m just going to try to make the most of the time with my team and family,” he smiled. “I’ll also play some golf to switch off my mind a little bit. The things I’m doing are working, so I’ll keep at it.”A quip from a Centre Court spectator about a possible Ibiza getaway prompted a laugh from the Spaniard, who quickly responded, “There’s no time for Ibiza!” Respect for NorrieDespite the scoreline, Alcaraz was full of praise for Norrie, who had won two of their previous three encounters and had been labeled a “nightmare” opponent by the Spaniard before the match.“Cam is an amazing player and a great guy,” Alcaraz said. “There’s probably nobody who works harder than him. I’m happy to see him playing these kinds of matches and fighting for great things.”Norrie had opportunities in the early stages, including three break points in the second game of the match, but was unable to capitalize. Alcaraz seized the momentum and didn’t look back, breaking serve repeatedly and finishing with a flourish. On to the Final FourWith his place in the semi-finals secured and confidence high, Alcaraz will now turn his attention to Friday’s clash against Fritz as he looks to continue his march toward a historic Wimbledon hat trick.Wimbledon Men’s Semi-Final Line-Up (so far): Carlos Alcaraz (2) vs. Taylor Fritz (5)Stay tuned for full coverage of what promises to be a thrilling finish to the 2025 Championships.
